Current Projects
The
PVPI is currently providing program support for a number of
violence prevention efforts in the community. The
following only includes current project projects (complete
program list of past projects and project descriptions
available upon request):

Improvising Change
Performance Education Troup Sehome High School
Improvising Change is a peer based
improvisational performance education troupe focused on
preventing bullying and harassment by changing bystander
behavior into ally behavior. The PVPI's
School of
Performance Education provides all training and
support for this highly successful project.

Preventing
Bullying and Harassment Through Ally Building Project:
Lutheran Campus Ministry, Bellingham, WA
The purpose of this ongoing project is to train
college students involved in Lutheran Campus Ministry as
paraprofessional violence prevention educators.
These paraprofessionals then present bullying and
harassment prevention workshops to high school and
middle school students. Paraprofessionals have
been successfully trained at Western Washington
University, University of Florida, Marquette University,
and Penn State University.

Creating
Sustainable Violence Prevention Programs at Youth and
Family Homeless Shelters in Washington State
The purpose of this project is to create
sustainable, effective, and individualized violence
prevention programs at youth and family homeless
shelters in the state of Washington.

Recognizing and
Responding to Relational Violence in Religious
Communities
The purpose of this project is to train church
personnel to recognize and respond effectively to
domestic and relational violence between adults and
youth.
